Virtual Book Fairs Basics

How do I know I am shopping from my child's school's Virtual Book Fair?
You will see the school's name and address on the landing page before you enter the Virtual Book Fair to shop. Once you are in the Virtual Book Fair the school name will appear at the top lefthand corner of the page.

Can I shop Virtual Book Fairs for two different schools?
Yes! Just make sure that you visit the link each school provides you separately and enter a separate order for each fair. You can tell which school's Virtual Book Fair you are shopping by the school name in the top lefthand corner of the page.

Book Fair Rewards

How does my child's school earn Book Fair Rewards?
Every order you place earns Book Fair Rewards for your child's school. After the Virtual Book Fair ends, all purchases for your child's school will be totaled and the Book Fair Chairperson will receive a certificate for the school's Rewards.

When will my school receive the Book Fair Rewards from my order?
After the Virtual Book Fair ends and all orders for your school have been totaled the Book Fair Chariperson will be mailed a certificate for the Book Fair Rewards earned.

 

Account Management

Why do I need to create an account? Why can't I checkout as a Guest?
Creating an account allows us to offer you an improved experience, from shopping through to delivery. We take your privacy and security very seriously; for more information please review our Privacy Policy and Web Privacy Policy.

Can I use my Reading Club or Classroom Essentials account to shop from a Virtual Book Fair?
No, you must create a new Virtual Book Fairs account for this site.

 

Ordering

Can I make changes to my order after it is placed? Can I cancel my order? 
No, once your order is submitted it cannot be modified or cancelled.

Can I place an order and have it sent to a different address?
Yes, you can enter a different billing and shipping address to have your order delivered to a different address. Please note that orders can only be shipped within Canada.

Do prices include taxes?
Prices displayed in the Virtual Book Fair are pre-tax. Applicable taxes and shipping charges will be calculated during checkout.

 

Shipping & Handling

How can I qualify for free shipping?
Orders of more than $40 before tax and after any promotions qualify for free standard shipping.

What is the shipping rate?
The standard shipping rate is $6.00+HST for any order less than $40 before tax and after any promotions. 

Shipping rates are subject to change.

Why is there a shipping fee for orders below $40?
With an in-school Book Fair we were able to offer free shipping to schools as we delivered all the books for the fair to your child's school at once, however with a Virtual Book Fair each order is sent directly to the customer’s home. Unfortunately we are unable to provide free shipping to families without a minimum order. Orders of $40 or more automatically qualify for free shipping.

We want all families to be able to buy books from the Book Fair. If shipping costs are a concern, speak to your Book Fair Organizer or contact customer service to find out about Free Shipping on Family Nights.

How do I check my order status online?
You can see a list of your orders and their status on your Account page by clicking on your name in the top righthand corner of the page.

When will my order be delivered?
Your order will be delivered 5-7 business days after it is received.

Can I track my order?
Yes, you will receive an email when your order ships containing a tracking number and link.

Can US customers order from a Virtual Book Fair?
Anyone is welcome to place an order from Virtual Book Fairs, but delivery is limited to addresses in Canada.

Do you offer faster shipping options? 
Currently, only Standard Shipping (5-7 business days) is available.

Who do I contact if something is wrong with my shipment? (eg. An item is damaged or something is missing?)

Returns

Can I return my Virtual Book Fair purchase?
Your complete satisfaction is our #1 priority. If for any reason you want to return an item you ordered, we will be happy to give you an exchange or refund.

If I have to return something do I pay to have it shipped back?
Yes, returns must be shipped prepaid. For more details on how to process a return, please visit our Shipping & Returns page.

Can I drop off a return at my child’s school? 
No, returns cannot be processed through your child's school. For more details on how to process a return, please visit our Shipping & Returns page.

 

Payment

What payment options are available?
We accept credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), and Visa Debit.

When will my Credit Card be charged?
Your credit card will be charged at the time you place your order.

 

Guide to Technical Issues

How do I switch between two different Virtual Book Fairs?
To change from one Virtual Book Fair to another, you must navigate to the unique Virtual Book Fair URL provided by your school and enter the second fair using the "Shop Now" button.

If you notice that your browser is redirecting you to the first fair, you may need to clear the cookies and cache of your web browser or open the second fair in a different browser.

How do I clear the cookies and cache of my web browser?
If you notice certain items on the webpage are not refreshing or updating, you may need to clear the cookies and cache of your web browser. To clear the cookies and cache, use the History tab in Chrome and Firefox, the Safety tab in Internet Explorer, and the Preference tab in Safari. You can discover detailed instruction by visiting your browsers' Support site.

Every book on your Scholastic Book Fair, whether in-school or virtual, is specially chosen by our team of Product Managers. And every book purchased at your fair earns rewards your school can use to help put great new books and resources in your classrooms and library.
